how low can the COE get? $1?Originally posted by yoongf:Right now.. the annual depreciation of new cars is lower than most 2nd hand cars, due to low COE environment recently.
2nd hand car also need to pay transfer fee... this is not a small amount.
2nd hand cars may have some normal wear and tear problems that may be perceived by newbie as major issues. If not sure and keep fixing the car to showroom condition.. the total cost will be more than new car.
I suggest get new car, like Getz, Vios, or City depending on budget.
The car debate is just a small part. Depends with where you compare with. With SEA countries, will you rather have cheap cars, but lousy healthcare, education , security and political instablity like Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines ?Originally posted by Harris_JeyaRaj:how low can the COE get? $1?
i bet u with the money u coud just migrate and and find a job overseas.
Its not worth it pal. here are still places like AUZ, NZ and Canada which cant be comparabale to SEA countries. There is always a tradeoff invloved but what is the chances of it being a flexible tradeoff compared to a fixed one?Originally posted by pufferfish_79:The car debate is just a small part. Or with the European countries, with cheap cars... but higher cost of living?
Its a trade off. I rather trade the cost of car with better healthcare, security, and education. MHO
The indirect tax like VAT, GST ? The opening hours of the shop ? how difficult it is to find 24hrs food joint ? Well there is no end to comparing. overall I'm happy to be living in Spore. I'm contented with the quality of life here. A car is just a insignificant part to me. There are cheap weekend cars and car-sharing cooperations. Thats a good alternative when I do not wish to take public but will like to drive instead.Originally posted by Harris_JeyaRaj:Its not worth it pal. here are still places like AUZ, NZ and Canada which cant be comparabale to SEA countries.
