You know in SOME families, when you argue with either your mum or dad on an issue, they will ask you to keep quiet and that they are right because they are your parents and have jurisdiction over you.
Well personally, sometimes my parents will say those cliche phrases to me because they have nothing to say or they know they will lose if they carry on.
In my opinion, i feel that this type of parents are actually diminishing the intelligence of our youth, by asking them to keep quiet
They might get the sign that
1.Authority overpowers logic or suggestion, you know like veto power in voting, they MIGHT get bossy and act like a control freak when they grow old and too amadant to listen to other people's opinion and everything has to be MY WAY ON THE HIGHWAY!
2.They might be too afraid to give suggestions in the future for fear of getting reprimanded.
3.Instead of discussing the pros and cons of the situation they prevent their children's debating skills from becoming enhanced.
4.They might find that a cause if not worth fighting for and give it up and follow blindly or some would say go with the flow
