  I thought all original manufacturers are basically the same companies who manufacture the same components for computers:
  
  Hardisk - fujitsu, seagate, IBM, maxtor, western digital
  
  Floppy disk - sony, samsung...
  
  Disk drive - wowsers a whole lot include Iomega, Lite-on, Plextor etc
  
  RAM - kingston etc
  
  CPU - mobility, centrino, pentium etc
  
  Assembly, now that's the job of dell, fujitsu, sony, ibm, acer, toshiba and a whole lot more.

  apparently not so.. i understand in the case of notebooks, the top brands choose to outsource manufacturing and even design to ODMs/OEMs.
