my A-LEVEL chinese oral examinations...

errr just to get it clear im in a jc which i do not favour in many aspects. i sat for my a-level chinese oral exams today and i thought i didnt do too well. please gimme ur most honest opinions..
this is how it goes. the question today was about whether u prefer local universities or overseas. i managed to blurt out some words somehow but the examiner asked me many questions so i wonder if there is a chance i might fail this. ive asked a couple of ppl and they all told me its hard to fail chinese oral but i doubt so.
the examiner was kind enough to give me assistance on some words i do not know how to express but that might lead to the deduction of marks. they must have thought i flung it so badly that they asked if i am chinese. i was dumbfounded and at the same time shocked to receive such a question as it definately isnt a good sign. since i came from a rather complicated background, my grandpa's an indo-chinese who migrated to singapore whereas my grandma is a dutch but i have totally no idea how to say 'dutch' in chinese so i told the examiner im not. she rolled her eye at me and it freaked me out. im thinking she must have thought that im telling a lie or not proud to be a chinese because i look 'chinese'. these two things, first the questioning and then that kind of look she gave me is still bothering me right now. thinking back, she might have noticed my hair colour, which ive been giving the excuse that im not 100% chinese, and that might have given me away.
i was the first to take the exam and the first to sacrifice. do u think i stand a chance to do well enough to pass? do note that this is only 15% of the chinese grade and i really do not wish to fail it as i'll be forced to retake it next year. -

it's over liao, dun think abt it anymore, concentrate on other papers. do well for other parts for ur chinese paper. why let it affect ur study mood? u can't change it anyway.

hey daphne relax lah, if you're really concerned about ur chinese grades you would have practised more, right?
and now that they've scrapped chinese, it shouldnt matter much anymore. and yes, sorry to say this but its kinda true, its easy to fail chinese, especially among those students who lack a certain proficiency in it (not that im saying its good or bad, but its just that)
its easy to get c6 or worse for chinese (AO) but i got good news for you too.
they say the paper that is pivotal on ur grades is more of theory than ur listening compre/oral. why? simply because 11/20 12/20 13/20 should only make barely any difference in the final result. -

YES i hate ppl who speak hokien 80% of the time and chinese when they arent speaking hokien. needless to say they sound ungentle and vulgar and they think acting like that is cool. -

relax many ppl like me have probs with oral too. can remember when i was taking my olvl chinese oral...my mind went blank n there i am staring at the chers face n there she is staring at me for bout 20 sec then guess wad... the cher laugh n said "ni ke yi chou lao"..wtf she laughed!!!! n that must have indicated i screwed up badly but guess wad i pass..

haha I still remember my sec one that time I was having French oral exam, I talk talk talk, and then the examiner didnt understand a FUck I was saying, she kept saying "pardon?" "pardon?"

actually its pretty hard to fail chinese oral but you might get the bare minimum passing grade for it.
but then the truth is oral isimportant for getting good grades but to pass its not important given your command of chinese i doubt you are aiming to score so forget about it. -
Ask yourself whether the examiner is asking u questions is because...
1. U have not been talking much.
2. U have some interesting views and she likes to know more.
It is ok if u dont know how to express your views with certain words,they be kind to help u. As long as u talk sufficiently,u should be able to pass.
The examiner asking whether u are chinese or not? May be good or bad thing,depends on her thinking then..if shes good enough she give some leeways..if not good luck to u. -

Hm... daphne ... i think u can relax abt it...
A lot of my frenz fail AO chinese and they are all in Uni now...
Nowsaday, AO chinese does not matter when u enter Uni.... unless you are going to Arts & soci Faculty...
