the real losers will be those who really donate their hard earn money out of their heart and those who really need a bit more subsidy for their treatment and worse if next round nkf cannot raise more , they may penalised those on treatment.
same logic as stock brokers going to increase commission and dbs/posb $2 for below $500 account.
they always look for mid to bottom poorest to blame and bully. -
I think the board also got problem. The Durai seems to keep pushing the blame to the board, is it the board also think tat its alright to draw such high pay in a NON PROFIT organization? A board consists of many well educated n knowledgable individual doesn't seems to feel disturb n care by the Durai 12 mths bonus? Where is the principals of being a charity organization members? Isn't it far too much? Yes they r talented, clever n well educated but not wise, mei zhi hui.. Where is all ur heart??

Charity activities in Singapore are rather 'grayish'
I suspect Director Durian is exploiting these loopholes all the while
Therefore legally speaking, he cannot be charged
for having first class airseats or receiving 12mths bonus
because if i'm not wrong, charitable organisations can use
15%(or 30%) of the donated money to cover their "expenses" -
1000 people may say they(BODs/CEO) are wrong to receive such high bonuses.
maybe perhaps another 1000 people may say its justifiable.
But the issue does not lies in who is more right, who is more wrong.
Now the issue is -Morality.
Drawing 12 mths bonus while working within a charitable organisation without bating an eyelid?!?!
Where are their senses? Have they forgotten they are under the name of a Charitable Organisation?!?!How the hell did they manage to become BODs and CEO in the first place?!? On what grounds are they chosen to be the one to lead?! Perhaps they may have business acumen, but if they dont have a golden heart, how are they suppose to convinced the commoners to donate generously?!

Now that we know 10-12 months bonus salary is paid, can we know how much pay (and other) expenses make up the $0.48 expenses per $1 donation?
After all, since it's "a business organisation of $120 million turnover", shouldn't
the public know how much went to charity/patient use and how much went to other uses (and who)?

Hi i able to get a real life experience of a fella whose mom is under NKF subsidy...

Even though my mom is under their subsidy, they make the kdiney patients to go thru blood test all the time (say twice a week). Each test cost abt $100 over. Reason for the test is to see if patients have HIV. It's fair to have blood test BUT if my mom has done it in a hospital a few days ago and the doctor gave us the blood test results to be handed over to NKF for record. The test is still valid for submission. One of the nurse insisted my mom go thru the test again for no valid reason but just to make money out of the patients whom they claim to hugely helped in their battle in their daily life. SO NOT TRUE!! If their patiems are so poor, how are they supposed to pay for their REGULAR blood test (which I don't find the need to do so frequently).
Apart from earning money from the blood test, they sent the next of kin of the patients a donation collection card for them to go around begging for NKF! It's somekind of a blackmail tactic as my mom is under their dialysis centre. I ask them how they got my contact when they call me for help. I told them I'm supporting my mom but they literally forced it down my mailbox and insisted that I can do my best to help them since I've been supporting them (NOT TRUE..I have never supported them in any way before. They found my number from my mom's database and hound for any contacts they can find to help support their expensive lifestyle corporation).
The point is they are using public sympathy with their sad ads about these kidney patients and now they have cancer patients unit for their own gain.
Dunno how true is it but worth reading. -
sometimes i wonder whether greed can be in the form of the kind of corruption that the gov wants to eradicate but now they have to deal with the greed in the different form. THose in control and with power of an organisation.
and even worse charitable needy organisation. -
the works of NKF is real and a life saviour to those in need of treatment and caregivers.
its just the money matters they need to sort out and be more transparent and accountable.
how much is being wasted?
they actually cannibalise donation money meant for others who is not in a position for mega events.
