  only wanted to express the way i feel towards a group of ppl in a certain dialect group that uses it informaly to such an extent whereby they sound rude and ungentle but not generalising. if i offended anyone, i am sorry

  well on one gets protection from flaming.any post can be liable to praise or flame its just your bad luck that most people see differently from you.

  i say, if you think we are flaming you, sorry about that. but we just cannot take in the fact you want to end a friendship because of what? the language he speaks? i mean, you mention English will always be your main language, do i assume you are trying to dump away any roots you have? and why the heck is a JC student up at this time anyway lol

  i have lots of free time. my jc doesnt require me to do as much work as the others and im slacking here now because i have just completed my homework.

  In SG, hokkien is so common esp. the guys who have been thru army, sometimes we greet each other: "eh, Ho sey bo?"
  When you post something that attacks the majority, then the majority will attack back.. and u get flamed.

  i never say that my man, i am just wondering why the hell is a JC student up at 2plus 3 on a school day lol...and second thing, she talks like she is gonna abandon mandrine, so i assume that is destruction of her roots

  hmm i gues abandoning of roots holds diff meanign to others. anyway you will say i abandon my roots too in that i see my self not as from china but rather as a singaporean who happens to be of race chinese. therefore chinese just happens to be the language i am supposed to know. definition of roots can diff too.
