how to chase for payment?

i've been doin freelancing beside my full-time.
last mth, i did a proj for a company (quite a ok company.) and the payment they owe me for the amt of work was abt $1.3k.
I had sent them the invoice about more than 3 wks ago but till now..i still did not receive my payment. Dun understnd y they kept dragging my payment. To think that i spent a few nites rushng for them when they are rushing to launch their contents. Now..wks past and i havnt got my money..
How to get my due pay leh...i've been chasing them for wks man.

normally companies make payments only once a mth and take abt 1 mth to raise their payables... wait out another 2 weeks and see....
but if you can't wait, get the person u liase with regarding the project to help u lor.... -
the thing was, the person who got me the lobang for the job was my ex-colleague and friend who is now working in that company. not really... freelance proj usually quite flexible.
anyW, ive already talk to my other freelance source to clear payment after every mth liao if he got proj for me regularly.
As for this one, since its a one time thing.. hopefully... can get it clear by the end of this mth latest..else too much le ba. -

My experience with freelance project is like that also. I guess for companies they settle their accounts once a month? So depend when you submit the claim there is a delay but if it is > 2 months something not right.
Sometimes you gotta pay a cut of your take with the lobang who bring you this project. Cuz he/she inside he/she will help you with the quotation and then since also got a cut of the money he/she will help you to chase the payment.
This is how dirty a working world can get. Sometimes that lobang can also reveal what other vendors quote so you can quote much lower to secure the freelance project.
However, freelance projects usually small costing 500 to about 2K so I guess not so bad to give some to lobang so as to settle the payment fast
