What should NKF do now?

With all the ra ra in the past few days, what do you suggest NKF should do?
I suggest....
since they have reserve to sustain for the next 4 decades, then they should disburse 2/3 or 3/4 of the money to other charities. For all you know, in the next decade, some doctors might have researched something to prevent kidney failure and NKF will have no role to play anymore.
Other charities are struggling like mad, cuz they don't have qualified ppl to raise funds for them. They don't have qualified ppl cuz they don't have money. So in the end, they are all poor. Having difficulties sustaining, don't talk about helping the needy.
Another suggestion is for NKF to totally waive off the dialysis fee. I understand that each patient still have to pay about $300 per month or something. (anyone verifies that?)

apologise on national TV and the papers for cheating the people's money by misleading them and and misusing the money.

I think they should do nothing. At this point of time, anything they do is going to be under scrutiny, good or bad.

Take out A LOT OF MONEY and REALLY give it to those that the money was INTENDED FOR in the 1st place.
Stop fundraising for a while and really show that they are REALLY HELPING people (and not 10% - 20% kind of "help"). -

Yes u r right honeybunz, i really wish they can fully subsidise the full medical expenses.
Not everyone that is poor benefits from the NKF programme.... one of my friend's 60+ yr old uncle whose son had abandoned him got kidney failure but NKF refuse to help him simply BCOS he had a son and said that its his responsibility to pay for his treatment... wat B****S**T is this.....!!!
Although NKF are willing to help those whose total income is below $2K BUT not all ppl out there got such low income HAV kidney failure right!!!! So in the end its still a win-win situation where they can pocket $$$ BUT claim not enough!!! -
What I see is that donations to the NKF shall be stopped totally.....at least for a few years. Don't keep grabbing the entire charity pie to themselves. Leave it for the charity groups who really need the funds to operate. There is such a thing called "charity fatigue". If NKF continues to have more shows every year, it is safe to say that most of the other charity groups will find it hard to survive.....
With reserves like that, a stoppage of a few years worth of donations will harm no one. In the meantime, there shall be regulations, either from government side or independent entity, that decides what charity regulations really are, how they shall operate in terms of facilities, subsidies etc and how donations will be spread among the expenditure.
I don't really mind the NKF way, subsidising the poor and helping out the family. The only problem I see is that every year, they keep having more and more shows, and raised more and more money. However, they have built up such a huge reserve and allowing the employees, even the top management to enjoy the full benefits of a profitable business. Luxuries that the average man in the street cannot afford.
I'm not saying that they shall work for free and in poor conditions, no. But, please, cut the lavishment, go down back to the basics and concentrate on improving the health and lives of your most important "clients", the patients. -

You can inform NKF of cancellation by
1. telephone: 6299 - 0200 (will be busy) or
2. fax: 6299 - 3164 or
3. email: [email protected] (state your name, NRIC, cancellation notice)
If you want to stop GIRO deduction with immediate effect (because NKF may take their time to process your cancellation), here is how:
1. Log in to your internet banking account
2. Select GIRO under Billing & Payment
3. Terminate NKF GIRO deduction (can be done with effect from next working day)
Or you can visit the bank to fill up a GIRO cancellation form
Many people wants to cancel but dont know how. Please help inform them.
