Gerard Ee named interim chairman and acting CEO of NKF

SINGAPORE : Just 24 hours after NKF's Board and CEO TT Durai stepped down, 55-year-old Gerard Ee has been named interim chairman and acting CEO of the National Kidney Foundation.
Mr Ee is no stranger to charity. He is even known as Singapore's own 'Mr Charity', serving as President of the National Council of Social Service since 2002.
Mr Ee, a former Nominated Member of Parliament, also sits on the Council on Governance of Institutions of Public Character.
Mr Ee heads the Automobile Association of Singapore.
He recently retired from accounting firm Ernst & Young. - CNA/de -

Gerald Ee, the new interim NKF Chairman, is most suited for this position as he has the credentials and credibility to shoulder this responsibility. However, he should exercised caution as his position as President of Automobile Association of Singapore might have a bearing on his new role.
With everybody digging up information from the Internet, some wise guy may stumble and highlight the fact that AAS have used the service of Protonweb Solution before and this company was highlighted by the media during the second day of the hearing.
There is a case study of AAS using a Membership Relationship Management System published under Resource (Case Studies) in Protonweb website www.protonweb.com. Since there is a relationship of an old NKF board member being linked to this company and with Gerald Ee being the President of AAS, this past linkage may cause tongues to wag again.
It would be wise for him to clarify his link first before taking up this hot seat. Please note that I am trying to tip off Gerald so that he can start his new work unblemished. Better to be safe than sorry especially with all unhappy donors waiting to pounce on sensitive matters. -
