SIM UNI versus NUS/NTU/SMU

what do you guys think? the 4th uni as offically declared by MOE.

as we all know... got money can go in liao... of coz... must still have to meet their cut off line... which is like sooooooooooo looooooooow. -

I don't know if SIM will have the standard of the other three uni, but i know for sure in 3 years down the road with the additional batch of uni graduates from SIM, it will be even more difficult for fresh grads to find permanent positions.
What we need is not more uni, but more jobs that pays well, works 8 hrs a day only and 5 days week... its night time... i am dreaming... those jobs are long gone... -

To be a fledgling university, SIM will probably have to campaign heavily like SMU did to draw in top students or at least siphon a percentile from the predominent Universities.
To reach the level of a full fledge university, it will have to offer a sizable range of courses, attract a huge intake each year and be heavily engaged in patent development and industrial project work.
As of today, only NUS is a full-fledged university. NTU is still not quite there yet.
A 4th university is possible, but only if the majority of students are locals. What point is there in opening a university which will end up attracting only foreign talents? Might as well take a private course offered by some foreign university instead.
