eerr... any one care to tell me the meaning of 'sia' ? I've seen it very common in the conversation but dont know what does that mean.

Yea, it's just a Singlish expression like 'lah', 'lor', 'aiyo', etc. Usually used to express surprise, disbelief and so on.
For example: Bart is wearing a suit sia!
Or: Sia lah! His sister is so hot!

yar, basically it comes from the malay word "sial"
its just that some chinese follow them and then subconciously say "sia"
it is also same as "halal" and we chinese pronounce it as "halah"
which i subconciously do too.. -
