I know somebody who income is $16k per month (incl bonus). He spent all. He cant save. He still find not enough for his expenses
he spent it on : -
a bungalow (rent)
a lazy pig wife
parents
a mother in law to look after the lazy pig's first baby
a BMW MPV
a maid for housework
etc ...
Wow. Then what is me man!!!!! Mine is defn a peanut compared to him. -
get a gold tap cost $999.99 w/GST and fix in my toilet.

all should have spend less and crash the economic. GOV saw, knew but cannot come up with jobs it promise. in order to let $$$ flow, econmic flow, he increase bus/mrt fare, electric bill cannot go too high as it will back fire, so in order to make more $$$, more ERP coming with fees going up some more. property tax up, new rules on housing window inspection fees, more go in medisafe, COE was too high for some now and that why COE had drop so much lately and stay around that level. 16k to 18k +/-
when more and more ppl dun contribute to CPF because no job, do you think GOV dun know? when 10 manager who gets 8k/mth but now get 800 as a cleaner, do you think GOV dun know?
economic here was not to measure economic as a country SINGAPORE as a whole but that one family economic who is on control of SG.
look at GLC oversea venture years back when they had make loses and this loses from where? CPF? COE? HDB? with more venture ahead and no $$$ in CPF, HDB, from COE... where do they get the $$$ from??? NKF??? MAYBE. -

both of them are in advertising.
they have 4 kids and live in a 600k condominium, drives a japanese MPV and has a maid.
he told me that the more you earn the more you spend. high income earners are normally more broke. -

Think of the future but enjoy today.
As long as you can set aside enough for your retirement and rainy day fund. Spend some of you money to make your life easier. What happens to all his money if a bus runs over him tomorrow?
