Demand for Independent Audit of Accounts of GIC, Temasek Holdings, EDB & Finance Ministry
To: Prime Minister of Singapore
We, the citizens of Singapore, DEMAND the Singapore Government to open the books of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Temasek Holdings, Economic Development Board and Finance Ministry for audit by an independent commission that must include members of the Opposition Parties. The commission will report its findings on, but not limited to, the following items:
1. Total portfolio size (with breakdown into different asset classes and countries of allocation).
2. Rate of return on investment on a yearly basis (with comparison to industry average).
3. Remuneration of the Chairmen, directors and other senior staff.
4. Operating expenses.
5. Expense ratio (with comparison to industry average).
6. Total staff size (with breakdown into Spore citizens and non-citizens).
7. Any dubious or illegal transactions.

The one against NKF worked because of the huge media coverage of the lawsuit. Besides, when a charity's involved, you can expect passions to run high without anything much to check it. Everyone's got peanuts to throw then.
In this case, though, most people would just look at the issue disdainfully and say, 'Bo pian lor....... What to do.....?'
Besides, with a gamut of petitions to sign (casino, NKF, Mrs Goh, and now this), you can expect people to eventually get sick of all this petition-signing. -

The petition demanding Temasek Holdings to open up its books was removed because "the author did not provide a full valid name", according to a notice.
The host has given the author three days to do so before permanently removing it. (http://www.petitiononline.com/sg090865/petition.html)
When readers log into it, they no longer could see the results of the petitions. Instead, it carries a notice, which explains that "anonymous petitions are not permitted."
Before its removal, the petition had been running for as few days and had drawn several hundred names, mostly anonymous, nowhere near the 40,000 petitions received calling for NKF CEO Mr. T.T. Durai's resignation.
The notice adds: "If you are the author of this petition, reply to the email we sent you with your full name.
"If you are the author and do not have the email we sent you, send an email to [email protected] asking us to reactivate your petition. Be sure to include your full name and petition ID in the email."
The removed petition was under the headling: "Demand for Independent Audit of Accounts of GIC, Temasek Holdings, EDB & Finance Ministry" and was addressed to the Prime Minister of Singapore.
It called for "audit by an independent commission that must include members of the Opposition Parties." -
Still can see the petition right now, but why did such a news came about?

Of all places, he/she has the guts & balls to request for an audit on GIC....
Wonder if this person has about 6mths to live or has just retired and nothing to do...

You might want to adjust your petition to include an INDEPENDENT board of audit.
It is not appropriate to ask the same ruiling govt to audit their own investments...there is no point really since they are the ones who control the financial movements. -
