Hi,
Would like to ask those experienced yugioh players in Singapore out there some questions... I got a interest in this game after playing with some of the pirated cards in my area with my poly mates, and would like to play it as a REAL original game, but got some question leh:
1. Where can I find a place to get started? Like, say, any shops that sells original ones?
2. Do we play jap or english cards?
3. Are there any konami/upperdeck sanctioned tournys in Singapore?
4. Where are the more "happening" places or shops to visit?
5. How much am I expected to foot for some of the cards? Coz I noticed that some cards falls within the 1~2 range, and some are like $25 and above leh...
6. Do you guys play advanced, limited or traditional formats?
7. Where can I get "bargains" for starter decks/ structured decks? What would be a good deck to start with? -

Are you a starter in the sense that, you havent bought a single konami official yu gi oh booster pack? -

2. You can only play cards manufactured by Konami. Either English Asia version or Japanese cards. I go for japanese cards as the quality is much better. Japanese cards are also cheaper and the foils are worth much more.
3.Yes. Every year there is a Worldwide Asia tournament organised by World of JJ.
4.See answer in 1.But the best players can be found in tampines
5.I spent $200 on my deck. Cards like Jinzo, Chaos Soldier, DD warrior Lady, reflect bounder and Lightningf Vortex is a must. If you lucky you only need to spend $50 on the boosters and strike foil every time.
6.Tournament format. 8000LP best of 3 games is winner. Occasionally we play ante.
7.Dont waste your cash on Starters. Just get the boosters and construct your own deck. -
