The New NKF Board

  SINGAPORE : A new National Kidney Foundation board of directors has been appointed.
  
  Mr Gerard Ee, who was first named interim chairman last week, will continue as its new chairman; and Mr Koh Cher Siang, a retired Permanent Secretary and a former Commissioner of Charities, is deputy chairman.
  
  Announcing this in Parliament on Wednesday, Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan said the new board has already held its first meeting.
  
  The rest of the board members are:
  
  - Mr Ernest Wong, group CEO of MediaCorp and a director on the UOB board; and chairman of the Nanyang Technological University's Endowment Fund Investment Committee;
  - Mr Gan Seow Ann, executive vice-president of the Singapore Exchange;
  - Mr Philip Jeyaretnam, a senior counsel and president of the Singapore Law Society;
  - Mr Ng Boon Yew, chairman of Raffles Campus and a member of the council which drew up the new Code of Governance for IPCs, or Institutions of Public Character;
  - Mr Peter Seah, a member of the Temasek advisory board and chairman of both SembCorp Industries and ST Engineering;
  - Professor Woo Keng Thye, senior consultant nephrologist at the Singapore General Hospital.
  
  The board members have experiences in a variety of areas including accounting, banking, business, corporate governance, management, law and medicine.
  
  Describing them as competent and senior individuals with vast experience and diverse skill sets, Mr Khaw is confident that together with Mr Ee, they will form a strong board with sound values and good community instincts.
  
  Adding that they have good hearts and good heads, Mr Khaw says "the job requires a good balance of the heart and head." – CNA /ct

  What about the CEO? Anyway, I think the board needs people like Sin Kek Tong or Sylvia Lim as members.
