wow yr lecturer's fish tank so sui!!!! had ever wanted to have a planted tank....but don't know the things i needed to do....anyway used to hv gold fishes in a two feet tank...(managed only to keep them survive a long time after many gold fishes had sacrificed
) but now really not enugh time to take care of the tank, with the addition of a third monster in my family...so the tank is out of the house, only the small pond stay. -

carpe, i see the marine tank we hv in office...seems not really too diff to maintain leh??? though more cleaning to do compare to freshwater ones.
but the one carpe show is freshwater rite? its neon tetra and discus -

you need fine sand, plants, fish, fertilisers, co2 diffuser, co2 tank, water tester, co2 tester and many other things.
it is actually quite expensive too. -

but the fresh water also do have some colorful ones like the chichill or chilid (sp??) can't rem wat its called liao. i once own two of them (during school days) not knowing they are fierce....my angel etc etc (i got a small tank of many diff kind of fish, cos don't know much about fishes then mah, din know some cannot mix)...and the chilid go chasing the others and my poor kissing fishes got bites all over and i still din know why then...
my dad said 'poor fishes, to be own by you!' -

used to have 15 goldfishes... but then they died one by one and i got so depressed. never had fishes after that...

to keep goldfishes the simple way....is to hv a filter with lots of those 'de-toxic' stone? go to the shop and ask, i think they should know....
have a undergravel filter and dont' feed too much or often,
i don't hv time to change water...so i feed only once a day...and not much....my goldies survive but only problem is they don't grow much ...ha ha my baby's nanny say my goldies 'kum jek' (worm in the stomach)
but to me at least they don't die anymore..... -
