He mention that if wanna be a real successful singer dun go thru the singing competition like spore idol, project superstar etc. I wonder wats the point behind tat but base on the current scenerio, our local famous singer almost none come from singing competition.
simple lah. that botak guy is Xu Huan Liang. i believe he's JJ Danny Lee's teacher. anyway, what he means is that real stars are not found from such mass singing competitions. these kinda mass singing competitions will only produce factory cookies : each and everyone of them are the same.
u look at American Idol, SG Idol and a lot of "talent-time" competitions.
the winner release 1 - 2 albums and disappear after that. taufik and sly? eh com'on lah.......don't disgrace SG with these clowns leh! look at what they're doing now? very sad leh. KNN.
real stars are made from luck. some established master in the record industry spots them and then groom them. in this case, the established master is the one seeking the stars, and the chance for a real star to be found can be as thin as one every 10 years in the master's life.
for these kinda singing competitions like PJ Superstar, it's potential star-wannabes who throw themselves at the judges and the judges can only hope to pick the best outta the worst.
like you end up with 25 crappy fools, and so you can only choose the best outta the 25 crappy fools.
whereas in a real-star scenario, the master set his eyes on over hundreds of thousands of potential stars during several years of his life, and he'll find one that's truly good. got very big difference one.
unless there IS A REAL STAR from among the competitors in such mass "talent-time" shows lah, but such coincidence never happen before.
shakira, britney, christina, destiny's child, missy elliot, jessica simpson and lots more never enter all these mass talent-time shows one leh.
anyway, outta the current 4 guys and 4 girls remaining, only Kelly got a bit of chance to really make it. the rest all go coffee shop and eat mi-ziam-kueh lah. KNN.
kelly's singing is quite good, is very media-healthy, elegant and gracious, and has a lot of "ren-yuan", so if someone really wants to groom her, at least the albums she sell will be equivalent to Jocie's "Mice love rice", or even surpass her and become near Stefanie Sun's level.
if the higher-ups don't wanna do nothing, then no matter how great Kelly is also no use lah. KNN.
