heard from the news tt 1 of the minister pledge to top up remainding amounts to charities tt are affected by the NKF saga if ever these charities can't raise the $$$
n may i ask...how are they going to help them top up?
my guess is thru sg citizens loe...by imposing some other law again...or dunnoe wat crap they are going to give us again... -

just bcos of NKF, we cant judge every charity organisation to be like that...
there are some genuine case and some "acting" cases. use ur own judgement & let move on, there are lot of folks out there that required help.....

Yah , let the help come from the Peanut earning people, we dont have gold bowls or silver spoons to be charitable.
I'm sure the many millionaires , that the Singapore economy can churn up every year can do the Charitable work ... If you're not a millionaire, why bother ? -
There is no CEO. President's challenge is merely an event organised by SR Nathan to help raise fund for the beneficiaries. read from the straits times recently that the combined wealth of the millionaires in singapore totalled 300 billion. yet there are only three foundations in singapore. (LEE, SHAW and singapore pools)
what does this tell you?
the rich arent even interested in doing charity!!! -
1. How much are the rich ($100K salary a yr) in Singapore contributing to charities?
2. How much are the President, Ministers and MPs contributing to charities?
3. How much are highly paid civil servants contributing to charities?
4. What percentage of donations go to patients?
I think average Singaporeans at large can't wait to hear solid than wishy-washy answers before they go donating again to support the schemes of the rich.

the media crops artistes are usually busy doing nothing except giving birth and getting married..that is the only news i heard from them.. -
Pls do not pass judgement. What you are reading is only the surface. Some millionaires do charity in private. They dont like to set up foundations and make a big hoo hah out of their charity work. it is really sickening that they are depending on the salaried workers to help the sick and aged. why are the millionaires not starting any foundations to do more for the poor?
300 billion!! just a small percentage is enough to do the job. -
