Access time and buffer size

when you guys buy cd/dvd writers, do you consider their access time and buffer size?
if yes why and if no why not? i will greatly appreaciate fruitful replies. so those who know then answer else please ignore this k.....

i jus consider buffer...helps in burning.. i dont really consider read or access time unless im transferring data frm the cds...
