Formula One Race in Singapore

Wondering ? Will it happen ?
Why not ?
If M'sia can make it into a World Class event , why not S'pore ?
Imagine Fernando Alonso , Michael Schmacher in S'pore ....... and those Renaults , Ferrari's , etc......
Possible ? Or just a day-dreaming ?

The authorities turned down the chance to host a round of the A1 Grand Prix series here recently. Why? It "did not have obvious benefits."
I'm not very hopeful when the Grand Prix Manufacturer's Association (GPMA, formerly the GPWC faction) comes a-knocking.
P.S. The look of F1 post-2007 isn't very certain, with Mercedes, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Minardi and BMW still threatening to break away, leaving Ferrari and the minnows behind. -

this is a question very simply answered. so many people have been saying that they're looking to build a circuit here, a circuit there, SMSA looking at this, thinking of that. my reply to singapore is this:

Because nobody would go. It's a 20-30 ticket. Singaporeans have problems paying 3 dollars for an S-League game what makes you think they'll pay 10 times that.
Why build a track when it's only going to be used 3 times a year and maybe once or twice a week? -

Come to think of it , it'll be a White Elephant project .
Built a circuit and used only 3 times .
But ..... at least Speedster people like me can find a place to have some " fun " !
Not at the moment ...... so sad . -

hmm well i... actually most F1 tix are about S$400-$500 for a economy 3 day pass in europe. Sg prob can do cheaper tix, but I guess currently the cheapest entry races are prob the Sepang n Shanghai circuits.Originally posted by Poolman:I would , even at $100 / ticket .

A 2-day ticket with a seat in the first corner sheltered grandstand at Sepang cost RM750. Even an unsheltered spot on the grass costs RM150.
