AVG anitvirus software

  i am currently using the above.
  
  after using for a while the system will prompt 'e-mail not configure/functioning properly' and my system will hang.
  
  anyone knows what is wrong?

  I use the above software too, but I've never encountered anything you mentioned.

  run configuration wizard n set it up the scanner for your emails...or disable it. If dosent work, reinstall.

  tried many times but still the same problem.
  
  maybe its because of the LsaSrv 5000 error i have in my system.

  u mean re-install? did u reboot after un-install then install again?
  
  well, ask urself wat did u do/change before that error came up.Try use System Restore if no alternatives...worse comes to worse..just reformat

  Ever tried to reconfigure your e-mail client? Like Outlook or whatever?
  
  If you receive this prompt, can you receive emails normally?
  
  Click on the AVG control centre --> E-mail scanner and try to disable some of the functions there and see what happens....

  i uninstalled avg and installed spydoctor.
  
  will see if i encounter the same problem.

  Spydoc is not the solution. This problem is random. Some people have it and some don't.
  
  In my case, the AVG email scanner sort of blocks my email download on outlook or express. I disabled it and there was no problem.
  
  Should keep downloading the updates. Occasionally they may have some patch software to debug the problem.

  I have been using it on my present PC for 4 months. No problems so far, except that only detected one virus so far.....

  the problem is everytime it happens my system hangs. i cant even off my computer. i have to off the power which is really bad for my computer.

  Hey Dragg.. do all the following in this order:
  
  scan all your partitions with http://housecall.trendmicro.com . Be sure to check "Autoclean" box before scanning.
  
  - Secondly go to www.moosoft.com and get "The cleaner". update it, and then scan your pc.
  
  - Then go to http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html, choose a mirror, and dload Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.3. After the program has been downloaded, update it and scan your pc.
  
  - Make an online scan at http://windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/
  
  - Afterwards go to http://www.spywareguide.com/txt_onlinescan.html and do an online scan.
  
  This shld clear out any virus/spyware problems
