Many many years ago, one night, during the seventh month, I was on the way to the bus stop. That time, I didn't have any coins (buses those days only accept coins, no MRT or ezLink cards). I forgot to bring my student bus pass. I only had some dollar notes in my purse.
On the way to the bus stop, I walked past a few old flats at Old Airport Road. Flats nowadays have empty void decks on the ground floor. But older flats at Old Airport Road actually have ground floor units for residents. Due to the hot weather, some families left their door open to have some breeze into their living room.
I walked to one of the doors to ask for coins. The family was gathered in the small dining area having their dinner. Before I opened my mouth, they all got freaked out. One or two of them actually ran into the room. Then one auntie said, "Aiyoh! You gave me a fright, you know!"
Forgot to mention.... I have very fair skin all along, sometimes look kinda pale if I am tired. And that time, I had long hair, and was wearing white that night. -

Used to enjoy this month, because a lot of dinners invitation, 'they' eat, I also eat. But now no more, plus the food not nice also. Dunno why 'they' don't complain.
