u using penium 4 chip issit? Mine will go to around 63 degress wen playing games. I use cooling fans pad which i just plug to my usb which lowers the temp down...so during normal operation (word docu, etc) temp around 27-35.

Or you are scurfing sites and downloading stuffs that are too hot for your laptop to keep...

Most importantly is to keep your HDD running cool. I keep mine running at 30 degrees celcius with a small ac fan and a lower ambient climate temperature.

think u can use either fans, usb-operated ones, dun buy wrongly, there is the blow-fan and the suction fan. Suction fan sucks hot air out and the blow fan blows. So remember to blow hot-air AWAY from the CPU, not towards it, as it will hinder convection.
Alternatively, you can "stack" up your laptop using a transparent stack so that air can come out freely from bottom, check it out at sim lim. Or use your PC at aircon place. -
You can also buy special plastic balls known as Speedballs. They attach to the bottom of your lappie using some Velcro-like material. They don't actively cool your laptop the way cooling fans do, but they help promote circulation.
They cost $15 though. Kinda ex for a plastic ball. -

I use Speedballs when I'm on the move. Not so effective, but portability is an issue. The Speedball takes up little space, and it does help provide better circulation and ergonomics for my laptop. Better something than nothing.Originally posted by dark_snowboy:

I use a USB cooling pad at home. Since portability is no longer an issue, I make use of the cooling pad's effectiveness. It's not exactly ice-cold (I can still feel some heat), but the temperature difference is really noticeable. -
