There is certainly nothing in principle wrong with interracial relationships; for we are all members of one and the same human species.Originally posted by coffeeortea:inter-racial is still ok.. but i mean.. must convert to a same religion?.. no no.. im not willing to pray 5 times a day, go to mosque every friday.
Vivek, you have seriously missed my point.Originally posted by Vivek Oberoi:It is because thre is not enough sg indian girl to meet their tastes but unlimited amount of chinese women.
And nowadays those indian men want those bollywwod type of gals which are serious shortage here in singapore.
U should get a clue first. Not all Indian men like chinese woman. They can only admire but to them their first choice will be an Indian girl , that is if they can get according to their preference. And the real reason why those Indian men go for chinese women is not beauty or wadver crap. it is because of money. Those women may have some advantages over indian women when it comes to connections, people or workforce. Did u ever notice that chinese women those indian men marry are most of them not good looking. Either short, fat or ugly. Do u think Indian men who that dumb? There is always a catch. There will be loads of beautiful Indian women from North India who will be willing to marry a Singapore Indian men just like how u chinese men want vietnam or china brides.Originally posted by MrBach:Vivek, you have seriously missed my point.
It's got nothing to do with supply; after all, if I don't like seafood to begin with, I'm not going to be particularly pleased by the prospect of my living in a country where there are only restaurants which sell seafood.
The point really is this:
What marks me out as human in a way that cannot be captured by any naturalistic account of my humanity, is my ability to resist whatever tendences I find might to be operative within myself (and this regardless of how these tendencies are themselves to be accounted for).
If one of your Indian friends is unable to prevent himself from thinking of Chinese girls as being generally more attractive than Indian girls (even the Indian girls who hail from 'Bollywood'), then I seriously doubt whether you can offer him any solutions.
I believe, however, that for such a person (and indeed for all of us) a solution is to be had in the fact that we are each supposed to be seeking beauty on a higher plane than that on which it may be supposed that feminine beauty (of whatever type) exists.
When you can appreciate the Crucifixion as beautiful, then you will regard the very category (so to speak) of feminine beauty as utterly inadequate to capturing what it truly means to be beautfiul.
Vivek, in my eyes, the care-worn face of Mother Teresa is very much more beautiful (and more hauntingly so at that) than the most beautfiul of your so-called 'Bollywood women'.
I'm sorry Vivek, but you are pathetically short on solutions.
Please get a clue.
But Aphrodite represented femininity, didn't she? The stamping our of Graeco-Roman mythology by the Judeo-Christians only served to lower the status of women later on. Wiccans, and Greek mythologists, to some estent, had more respect for women.Originally posted by MrBach:Let the pagans have their Aphrodite and let them sate themselves like animals with the taste and sight of her flesh; you, my friend, you, turn to the Living Christ!

The majority out ther eis the ugly type of couple. When there is a majority, then people will have too generalise. Sad but that is fact.Originally posted by finance_geek:Vivek do not generalise.
I know 2-3 good looking North Indian fellas pullling in grade A Chinese babes on a regular basis. Not all go for the ugly ones.
Like I said, everyone has their own prferences. No one marries another person for contacts etc. That's plain sad.
Do u know that now it is easy for anyone to get into Bollywood, so long u got looks? It s like come ang go type of thing. If u notice their men are always the same and women change all the time. It is a babe producing machine, an indirect fact.Originally posted by finance_geek:Let me ask you.
Are you even attracted to other races?Or just have a warped mentality about Bollywood.
The last i heard,Bollywood was a film industry, not some region in India producing babes.
So loosen up,experiment around. We're living ina globalised environment,it'll pay off for sure.
Aphrodite represented femininity defied; and that to the first Christians (who were of course converts from Judaism) was anathema.Originally posted by iveco:But Aphrodite represented femininity, didn't she? Jesus demanded that everyone be of equal status, regardless of gender (JnOriginally posted by MrBach:Does this Judaeo-Christian concept of morality 'lower the status of women'; or does it rather raise it by its insistence that a man is as much to be held guilty for his sins as is a woman for hers (all other things being equal)?
I'll let you be the judge of that.

Wtf is all the crap? What has it got to do with the discussion?Originally posted by iveco:Jesus demanded that everyone be of equal status, regardless of gender (Jn. Even the Pharisees who demanded to stone the whore had to comply with His request that whoever without sin should cast the first stone. Of course, these men were guilty of watching the woman having sex with her client in the first place.
But did the Jewish law think so? Definitely not.
Fast forward to the present day. Do we see Jesus' teachings being carried out? I don't quite think so. The people who make the important decisions for the Church are predominantly men. I doubt Ben 16th and his predecessors have a strong grasp of the problems faced by women in society since they aren't even female. Some Christian practices have inadvertently exacerbated the problems associated with discrimination against women.
The Wiccan hierarchy, in contrast, is headed by the High Priestess. This is because the Supreme Being is (Mother) Nature, and is of a maternalistic disposition. You can be sure that many feminists are drawn towards Wicca given their beliefs in female superiority.
