Think 100 times. Think over and over and over again. Make sure your idea is 1000% profitable before you become an entrepreneur.Originally posted by findingnewidea:Nowadays, enterpreneur takes lots of new skills too. IT is part of them.
In Singapore, I would not advice following that rule. Perhaps in some western countries with good unemployment welfare, it is ok.Originally posted by ha8n:wow ,thats an insight n below is last Rule :

Yes, it is impossible to find 100% sure success business to start up. I exaggerate to emphasize my point of "great care and thinking is needed before becoming an entrepreneur".Originally posted by findingnewidea:I think there is a conflict between our thoughts - I think there is no such 1000% profitable idea before even trying out.
In fact, taking assessed and reasonable risk is part of enterpreneurship too.
People who are looking for so-called 1000% profitable idea won't become enterpreneur eventually.
My 2 cents.
However, I do agree with your latter part - quite hard to explain to future employer.
Don't look at me... I'm too stressed.... <Originally posted by dragg:frankly i also noticed that serious topics normally dont attract much postings in this forum.
most people are interested only in crapping.
This is not correct. Contract job will give you higher pay and benefits.Originally posted by Cindyfeh:5. Fuck it with the Bullshit that temp and contract jobs are good for you. Most HR are myopic. They don't consider anything less than 1 year as real job experience but they will consider 3 contract jobs in 2 years as job hopping. If die die must do contract job, do not go for those less than 1 year.

Why?
Touchwood, but if you fail and you need to go back to employment, do you think it sounds positive to the HR that you are a failed entrepreneur? First they will think you are a failure. Second, they are scared that you will leave the company and become an entrepreneur again and worse be their competitor. One way out is not to put down your time as an entrepreneur. But it can be very difficult to explain why you are not working during that period esp if it is 6 months or more.
