I noticed that the server has become even more problematic ever since all that hoo-ha over sggirls broke out on the newspapers. I'm not surprised that all that publicity attracted huge hordes of men with no lives down to sggirls.Originally posted by FireIce:patience is a virtue.....
the forum can be faster if we shut sggirls down

It is interesting to know whether you are a qualified lawyer.Originally posted by findingnewidea:In fact, I notice there are lots of copyrighted stuffs being violated there in sggirls.com.
I wonder why our moderators don't take any action to remove those illegal stuffs. Or are there any other reasons not doing so?
Double standard...

I am not a lawyer, let alone qualified lawyer.Originally posted by pisces8:It is interesting to know whether you are a qualified lawyer.
May be you can help to explain what is the meaning of copyrighted stuffs?
Under what circumstances is the photos posted copyrighted?
Who is responsible for the copyright infringement if any, the user who posted or the service provider (website)?

However, I can explain the copyright stuff to you.
Copyright is a very simple stuff. The author of the content (article, photo, drawing, software, document, ...) automatically obtains the copyright to the content. Normally, the author can put on Copyright (C) who which year together with the content to emphasize his copyright. But it is not necessary. The copyright will still be with the author, even without the statement.
Therefore, those photo taken someone are all copyrighted. Unless the author (the photographer in this context) agree to grant the copyright to sggirls.com, else they are all considered illegal. Normally the photographer can issue a license to use in general and in which specifies the usage and validity period.
Does it sound simple?
I missed your last part.Originally posted by pisces8:Who is responsible for the copyright infringement if any, the user who posted or the service provider (website)?
