i say those who teach maths above secondary level should be retrenched.. those higher level maths are 100% impractical to future jobs practically and technically. more like forcing you to study to cover the curriculum and provide jobs to some engineering teachers who has to department-hop. (like in NP)
even when you are 80 years old, or 30 years old, you are still going back to +, -, x, and divide.. and numbers.. i dont know why we have algebra coming in.. we dont pay $x for one apple. we pay 30c.. -

Why should they? No doubt its useless for many who don't wish to pursue those that have interests in the careers that involve the use of higher levels of Mathematics, the education system in Singapore is to provide a holistic development of each and every one of their students. Impractical? Maybe in the business world, yes.
