ERP Nonsense

Er. Yeah. Hey LTA here. I'm in denial and after merely a few days of implementing $0.50 - $1 of extra costs on CTE, I'm glad to announce that even though everyone got fed up with trying to go home by Toa Payoh, Bradell or Thomson, and went back to CTE, anything above 20kmph is optimal! Woopee!
Hey, what's next, I might put more gantries at Toa Payoh, Bradell or Thomson. Who knows? ERP gantries are so pretty....
Gee. The government taketh, taketh and taketh again. Who cares about lower COE? They'll always get their money back. -

Maybe LTA will double the ERP gantry as advertisement space to earn ad income. That way they can take in even more revenue.

I'm just being sarcarstic. ERP has never been really effective since day one, and those jokers at LTA are just flogging a dead horse.
Okay. You lower the COE. That's going to cause a flood of new cars. Now that you've caused this flood, how do you control it? Simple! Get more money out of everyone. Gee whiz thanks a lot for such an idiotic short-term solution, Einstein. I know those 'scholars' up there haven't been very high up on the creativity scale, but this is just.... I dunno how to put it in words. It's just ridiculous.
I didn't really grasp how idiotic it was, until having talked to a taxi driver, and then consulting my other friends who drive after my curiousity was set aflame by my conversation with the said taxi driver. My dad wasn't too affected by this, because his cashcard is paid for by the company (duh), so it wasn't anything to him.
At times, the idea of running as opposition ran through my mind, but I kept dumping it because the potential fallout on my personal life, my friends and my family is just too great. Besides, my academic stuff have never been really fantastic, and this country isn't too famous for listening to those short of a Masters. The people here are just too short-sighted. -

Got money can settle matter.
ERP? - Just pay la. who cares so long my traffic is not jam.
Court case? Just employ a senior counsel.
Need to go without stopping at traffic light? - employ TP to open up the road for you.
Many many more matter can be settle with money.
But for you poor chap? Just complain and get a life.

If you guys buay song, go tell the grassroot leaders lah. Thats the purpose of having grassroot leaders and MPs. They are there to listen to your unhappiness. They are the ears of the government.
