why do some ppl look down on english?

Why look down on anyone when he or she has been made in God's own image, and is therefore 'fearfully and wonderfully made'?
Why be proud of your ability to converse in English when that is obviously something that can be put down to the way in which you have been brought up (and possibly also other genetic predispositions of yours, such as a natural aptitude for languages, for which you cannot possibly claim credit)?
A programme was televised recently, featuring a Chinese woman who was brought up by Malays.
The programme made it evident that a person's upbringing plays a fundamental role in shaping his or her character.
Thus I would also dissent from the view defended by certain cultural purists (who in my opinion verge on being racially or culturally chauvinistic), that if you are of a certain race, then it would be incumbent upon yourself to acquaint yourself (at all costs) with the language historically spoken by your ancestors.
Obviously, you do have a duty to honour your parents; and at least not to be ashamed of your ancestry, insofar as this pertains to your not being ashamed of the fact that your ancestry should have a certain ethnic character; but I think that this would not entail that in all possible sets of circumstances you would have to be doing your utmost to master the language of your ancestors, much less to be attempting to master it so that you could be said thereby to have acquired a certain determinate degree of proficiency in it.
Furthermore, I disagree with the view that properly speaking, there are 'cultural values'; for while it is indisputable that certain universal values are given more of an emphasis in certain cultures than in others, my view is that if an ethic is a value at all, then it has to be a value demanding the allegiance of all men; and thus that values are fundamentally universal and are not at all culturally relative.
It is from the standpoint of these universal values that we are able to criticise the various practices that might enjoy the endorsement of certain cultures: for instance, the (now-abandoned) practice of binding the feet of women, amongst the Chinese; or again, the practice by wives of treating their husbands as gods, amongst the Indians; or still again, the gluttonousness encouraged by the Chinese; and the division of the Indian community into castes, as is generally tolerated (at least by certain sectors) of the Indian community; and amongst those from the West, the sensuality and licentiousness their post-Christian societies encourage and tolerate, as well as the shocking neglect of the duty to care for one's parents, of which many from the West are guilty, as well as the fact that it is in their post-Christian societies generally deemed acceptable that the elderly should set up as an object of ridicule and summarily consigned to 'retirement homes', when they are no longer 'useful'.
As a Christian, no culture is my Lord; whether my own or some other, for I bow the knee to Christ alone.
If a culture were to run afoul of the universal standards of morality that I see enshrined in Scripture, (and if it therefore runs afoul of the will of Christ Himself), then what I will do will be to take a stand against that culture (even if it is my own), and throw in my lot with Christ.
That is part of what the Christians mean when they say that Christ is Lord alone.
As Tolkien (himself a Cathiolic Christian) once poignantly put it: 'Right and wrong is not one thing among Elves and another among Men'.

usually these ppl got very low self esteem instead of diverting their energies doing something better for themselves they will forever dwell in their own dellusion circling wround the fact that they did not receive proper education blahblah so u better not criticise them or scutinize anything about their work coz these group of ppl very sensitive...usually the spiteful way of such characters are to make those educated ppl challenge one another so that they can stand at one corner laughing but the better ones all got third eye opened can see evile and what the heart feels
so pls duun borther about these group of ppl wif such low level of self esteem and move on -
