chinese music hasn't evolved at all.

think about it. chinese music a couple of decades ago compared to that now.. the general idea is still poppy. even the rock songs are almost like pop music with rock background only.. unlike english music, it has many genres that are undiscovered by chinese music such as r&b, hip hop, rock etc.. even chinese rap doesnt sound like rap at all. that is why i do not listen to chinese music.

quite true. me dun like chinese music too.
alot of chinese songs consist of some angmoh, they think it's hip but i think it's cheap.
and all they do is to copy other songs from western, jap, korea and translated to mandarin.

some indie music can be quite nice too.. but english ones are my favourite. i cant stand ppl who act as if they are gay chou ..he is not worthy to be considered an idol caus his singing sucks and he is not handsome at all.

Well, if you guys are putting it that way, all songs sux...
If a few chinese artist's songs sux then chinese songs sux, then please ponder about it... There are artists in all languages who sux at this profession and then all songs sux lor...

never liked english songs. i prefer chinese songs. those who criticise chinese songs really don't know how to appreciate them. there are many outstanding singers/songwriters who make great music out there. have u ever take a closer look at the lyric of a good song? they are meaningful and touching too.

I don remember hearing any words in the mp3 i posted, just a bit here there. But they are not real song. They the variations of the original soundtrack song when u see an Indian movie the music plays at the background when 2 people are talking. Actually, chinese songs placed too much emphasis on love themes, which can get kinda boring when listened zillions of times. Furthermore, the melodies are like copycats of each other, with not much variations. As a musician myself, I could basically figure out in my head what the next chord would be when listening to most chinese songs. The vocal range of most chinese singers are nothing to be wowed about. There is no WOW factor when listening to chinese singers that make me say that he/she is the most fantastic singer I have ever heard. For me, it's seems more bubble-gum pop packaging than the real deal. Seems more "Britney Spears" than "Whitney Houston." -
I only like three chinese band, beyond, FIR and wu bai and china blue. there's also one more band called cthonic which is a taiwan death metal band, they won the jing qu jiang back in 2003
