Yes, that is true. The credit should go to those people who had fallen along the way while striving to make life better for all. LKY shouldn't claim all the credit since much of the work was done by the commoners.Originally posted by LazerLordz:To be fair, thank LKY for the things he has put in place after the 50s and 60s.But he should never be called the only son of Singapore who was capable enough to bring this nation forward.
The population is the real bunch of heroes that should be applauded in greater detail.
To all Singaporeans past and present, especially all the lao jiaos.Thank you for your sweat and tears. There are still people who have not forgotten you guys.

No one's sliming the MM.Originally posted by musakazim:It is a shame that people don't realise all the good they have.
To all those who don't realise this i wish they JUST (/Only) imagine, you would get all the freedom or whatever you think do not have it in Singapore,
BUT
you were not born in Singapore instead in a third world country, why think of third world country just imagine you were born on the other side of Singapore in Indonesia.
You would want to give up the things you like and be a part of Singapore.
How often we see poeple from this side (Singapore) going there to take citizenship than the people from the other side (e.g. Indonesia) wanting to be here.
i definately agree the people of Singapore have also played their part to bring Singapore to this position but it is mostly the LEADER who is responsible for all the decision making and bring the people of the nation together and to this position where it has reached today.
No one can be 100% perfect.
So please learn to respect and give credit for the Good someone has done.

Greetings from Zimbabwe! I bring my blessings from Mr. Mugabe to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew on his upcoming birthday. We, citizens of Mugabe and Zimbabwe hopes that LKY will live forever and ever!
In fact, we hope God will give him divine health...so that Mr. Mugabe and Mr. Lee can continue to work for the benefit of both governments and the people who work for these two absolutely wonderful countries!
Long live Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and happy 82th Birthday!
