Interesting.
The plural form for "mouse" is "mice."
But for a computer mouse, it's computer "mouses." -
rat got pointed snout, mouse got rounded snout. and generally mouse is tamer. mouse is one mouse. mice is many mouses...

Very interesting as I recently watched a comedy movie on tele where this two guys were arguing about the difference between a mouse and a rat. I cannot remember the movie title.
Obviously, mice is a plural form so no argument. According to them, a rat is an outdoor type of 'mouse' and a mouse is an indoor type of 'mouse'. That is to say, when a 'mouse' is outside, it is called a rat. But when it is inside, it is called a mouse. -

Not sure,but i think rats are mostly grey in colour whereas mice are white?Not sure...Or maybe the sounds they emit are slightly different..Go yahoo check la..

rat is those gray one bigger than mouse, wild ones. -

Or is it by default their colour dictate their species. (ie. no black mouse) -

But what happen if you see a runaway laboratory mouse and a city rat on the street. Then how to tell? Assuming both are equal size & color.

ie to say,
Mouse cannot be black.
A black one equal to rat.
Can someone confirm the validity of the two points please?
