anybody getting excited abt the new marina we are gng to have? it seems that there are so many on going concept to turn marina into the next down town. just cant wait to see it happen..

it's still a shopping mall lehz.
I rem the time when north pt 1st opened, people rushed to go there...now, nobody even wants to go even if I jio them.

The BFC (Business and Financial Centre), IR (Integrated Resort) and 2nd botanic garden will be built there, which is called Downtown@Marina Bay. The new NTUC HQ is now standing there.

imagine the new Marina (i.e. Marina South, Marina East, Marina Center)...it will be like a new ORCHARD RD....but best its at least 5 times bigger than the old Orchard area, more shopping, IRs even, amusement parks, gardens, conference halls, restaurants, games, everything all in one....like a city within a city...where every nite you can see fireworks....
(if you been to ORLANDO disneyland, you will know....heheh...there fireworks everynite! ) -
I am so excitied of it as it may be better than orchard and marina centre and I can't wait to go there

Funny that there are still plenty of unoccupied office space and there are already plenty of shopping malls (and some empty shop spaces). Do we really need the extra marina bay spaces?
Or are constructions for enriching a selected few? Think middle man's earnings like stamp duties, consultation fees, etc. All these could be a transfer of monies from national reserves into certain accounts.
Will all these constructions allow the average Singaporean to eat "better" bread? Does it mean that your salary will increase? Most importantly, does it mean that you will be more happier? Who do you think will have the time to enjoy the facilities? The well-takened care-of foreign talents or you the average Singaporean who needs to work 12 hrs a day, go for NS and reservist?
The future is already here for us to see. Go talk to any of your artist friend, esp those in the performance industry like plays, and musicals. Ask them if the $600 million Durian helped their cause.

The Downtown project's land plots would be gradually released according to market and economical demands.
The entire project can facilitate for decades of developement. -

So far 4 plots of land of the Downtown masterplan had been released.
They are:
One Marina Boulevard (NTUC Centre)- completed
One Raffles Quay- under construction, due 2006
The Sail @ Marina Bay - under construction, due 2008
Business & Financial Centre
Integrated Resort -
guys, everyone or every officer in government can dream up a lot of thing... e.g. marina bay etc...
but whether it works .. it's another story...
basically, my feel is that singapore is having a bet on casino.
if this bet doeesn't work, singapore economy will go downhill... housing price will drop, stock market will drop...
guys, do you think that singapore will allow casino if they have other choices? no, tis is the last resort and singapore has to make it work...otherwise.... good luck for singapore!!!
