OK I will help u.
Imagine a spillover, from a glass.
The water spills over.
If u spill something, it means the water goes out, and spread.
How did it happen? Maybe u were filling up the glass and it spilled.
In econs, when u do something and it goes out and spread to other fields, then it is called spillover.
For example, if u buy a T-shirt. From a store. The store makes money from u.
The store then pays its employees their salary.
If u buy alot of T-shirts, the store may increase the salaries of the employees.
In front of the store, there is an ice cream man.
As the salary got increased, more employees buy the ice cream from him.
This increased sale of ice cream is a spillover effect from ur increased spending of T-shirts purchases in that store.
Easy right? Just think of it in simple ways.
You can apply it in any bigger scenarios, like how increased number of tourists can cause spillover effects in hotels, restaurants. And then they cause spillover effects to their suppliers too. And on and on. Or building a road, or bridge, or whatever. All have spillover effects.
