Taxi Booking Senario

This is something that happened to me today. Just wondering what fellow Sgforumers will do in light of a similar situation...
You're waiting for a taxi on a deserted road. After 15 minutes have passed, you finally call for a cab. The taxi driver calls and requests that you do not cancel his booking because he is "committed to make it", although you can (as a customer) cancel the booking at any time. He sounds very persuasive and tells you of the time where similar situations have occured. The driver does not arrive till 15 minutes later, and in the meantime 2 empty cabs pass by.
If you've already given your word to the first cab driver that you will not cancel his booking... Will you flag one of the empty cabs that pass by and cancel it anyway? Booking fees are an additional $4.
Just thought it would be interesting to see how different people reason. -
i will just take the empty cab that arrive first.
waste time waste money wait for the booked cab. -
Cancelled a few times before. Now I can't book any cab from this particular company

probably in their blacklist oredi
they better do it or else i'll crash their servers -

next time get hp no. from a few of cabbies? den u can call them directly n dun ned to waste the booking fee.

got once..I waited more than the time stated and the cab yet to arrive
den i flag for empty cab and just now when i board the empty cab, he come..so i alight and change to the cab that i book..
and he still say a lot of feng liang hua..that he alrdy saw me on the opposite road..den give a lot of reasons why he late..and say if i wan i can take the cab that i flag just now..i was like 'huh' already gone liao how to change..
den he still charge me 3.20..
usually i will call and cancel booking..if not i just put my fone in silent mode and act blur..haha -

if i hav to take cab means.... i'm late.. jump into whichever taxi that comes first

IS there a blacklist if you cancel booking too often?? I've done it a few times.
If the booked taxi is obviously late, then I will take whatever comes first and cancel the booking. However in the first post's scenario where you already had verbal communication with the driver... well, I'd feel terribly guilty to cancel him hahaha. But if he kept me waiting further, I would probably call HIM to KPKB
A 15-minute wait for a booking is bad though...

I'm not calling from my company, I use personal and residential phone numbers.
Heck with my patronage they should put me on the Priority List !

You're likely to wait a decent 20-30min before the cab finally arrives..that is if he can find you first. Most of them get lost or are clueless as to the sophisticated GPS locator system at their disposal.
Just cancel if you made a bad call in the first place. At most will make your next dail-up a painful experience. -
my house the road is very busy 1 lor...
but still no cab... always either full or all gone hiding liao...
sheesh... maybe they deemed my place as the poverty district... no money to take cab so avoid my area...
