Peng Ku only created earth from his body. In the past the sky and the earth were lumped together. Peng Ku used all his strength to seperate them. After that he died of exhaustion. His body became soil, tree, sea etc.Originally posted by LinYu:Buddhism

Nu Wa is the one who created human. She used soil to make into a human shape and then she gave them life by blowing her breath on them. One day, the sky cracked and left a big hole. The sky would collapse on the humans if the hole was not sealed up immediately. So Nu Wa collected 100 pieces of rock but used only 99 pieces to fill up the hole. After that, she was exhausted and decided to take a very long deep sleep to rest. So she turned into a cloud.
(What happens to the one remaining rock? The story continues in another fairy tale.)
