Plane crashes.... something amiss?

Do you guys find it strange? Recently there were plane crashes in Greece and Venezuela. To top it off, a Qantas flight leaving japan had to make an emergency landing due to a so called fire in the cabin. Perhaps this is only the tip of the iceberg.. a friend of mine from Japan reported that there were many incidents of planes developing faults at least once every two days in Japan. All these planes belonged to JAL (Japan Airlines) so maybe thats why it wasnt reported in international news.
Had terrorists developed a secret weapon to shoot down airliners with some sort of invisible, wave form projectiles? Or perhaps these planes are too old to fly (20years plus) and its time for them to crash?

It's just a coincidence. There are so many safe planes without getting any media coverage, but if accidents happen they got media coverage, so people have the impresson there are alot of accidents. In actuality there are more road accidents and mishaps. Air travel is highly safe.

put it this way, for every crash that is documented and shown on papers and on tv, there are thousands of other flights that have made it safely to their destinations. if planes crash with the alarming frequency that many fear they would, i believe pratically a quarter of the worlds population would be left up in the air by now.
besides, accidents happen everyday, and you get to hear of them because, we can learn something about what went wrong and hopefully prevent it, and it moves copies of papers. imagine how dull and boring it would be if the papers listed a report on EVERY single flight that made it safely. would you want to part with your money just to read about Mr and Mrs Smith making it safely from X to Y? i don't think so. but if Mr and Mrs Smith didn't make it safely, you'd wanna know why, and if they survived, and what went wrong, and would it happen to you if you were to fly, and can you avoid that airline and so on so forth. i guess you get my point.
also, look at it. car crashes happen with alarming regularity. turn on the radio during the 2 peak hours daily and you'd get what i mean. has anyone stopped to ask if there's a conspiracy theory there? i don't think so. has that stopped people from riding in cars? nope. has it stopped or even slowed people from buying cars? no. and whats sacrier is that you have a higher chance of riding in a car than in a plane on any given day. why don't you think of that for a change? -
