How would you react if a stranger seems interested to know..

you and make an effort to show an interest in you at a public place , MRT, bus and you are also interested to know that person as a friend but you are afraid because you might be shy, afraid of rejection and a pissed behavior from that stranger and you feel that you might be overimaginating things when that person might not have shown an interest in you at all. Anyone experience this before and care to share how you react?

I got stalked by a black few days ago.
He said we were taking the same train and saw me at Bugis mrt stn. Wanted to say hi. Followed me for about an hour till Bugis Village then finally stopped me when I walked out of a store. He asked for my name and wat was I doing there.. then asked me if he could shop with me? LOL.. I walked into another store when he din notice.. and he disappeared after that. -
