Have you ever tried disturbing a lone ant till it panick and crawl faster.
The question is when this ant feeler meets another ant that passby, this passby ant also starts in a panicking mode. Why? What exactly are they communicating about?

they communicate through the release of pheremones...
when one ant panics, it releases "danger" scent and the other ants around it pick it up and release the same pheremone, alerting the other ants that there is danger around... -
