I now hv a desktop and a laptop. I wan both laptop and desktop to hv broadband access. I wan a wired connection in my desktop and a wireless connection in my laptop. so my frenz intro mi to buy a router.
so the Q is .... do i need to hv a lan cable in the desktop? and how to connect the router and the ADSL modem together?? -
Your ADSL modem mustn't be the USB type. -

lol...i have the same system at home...
listen carefully ar...
modem connected to the router....using the thicker LAN cable...
then from the router...there should be some LAN ports for you to connect to....you will connect the router to the desktop...using oso a LAN cable...all have to use LAN cable....except if u using starhub broadband....you will be provided with a black cable...this black cable special de...connect the modem with the scv tv port...
