Events manager Lim Bee Leong had left his three-year-old Alaskan Malamute, an Arctic sled dog, without water and shelter in the backyard of his Bukit Timah terrace house.
The dog was found dead, with blood foaming at its mouth in the backyard littered with faeces, after his neighbour called in the police.
For causing the dog's "unnecessary suffering", the 30-year-old got away with a $3,000 fine, when he could have been jailed up to a year and fined a maximum of $10,000.
The fine is "peanuts for someone who lives in a private property", said Mr Ricky Yeo, president of the Action for Singapore Dogs society.

I assume you are saying don't judge all the rich people by just one article?
Of course not all rich people are bad and likewise not all average people are good.
I just want this article to alert anyone who is dealing with rich people that great caution must be exercised least you are cheated or detrimented. This is a very simple principle but often times people put such simple principles behind them - eg washing of hands before a meal. It takes a serious article to alert them into action, eg. SARS.
I hope the dog rest in peace too. -

I always feel that the rich can get away easily. The law seems to favour them, or they probably have the money for the best lawyers. Whereas the average always kena jialat jialat.

Imagine this, the owner does not remember he has a dog, was needed badly to fly over for his work.
Which owner would want to leave a carcass behind in a pool a faeces and have to clean it?
Though I doubt the possible scenario above from happening, but it can be one in a dozen cases. Do not judge based on what you see only, since knowing it is harder.
