  I think it's because Bush and other world leaders like Aussie PM John Howard refuse to sign the Kyoto Protoccol, which requires them to cut back greenhouse gases by a certain %. Is the Katrina a result of global warming or is it just a natural phenomenon? Anybody can enlighten me?

  Sometimes, there are more than meets the eye. What you've learnt cannot apply completely and cannot be considered 100% correct. There are many mitigating factors leading to global warming and we cannot blame entirely on man alone.

  that I was not sure, but he is returning from texas when he is issuing orders for the relief efforts, highly unlikely to be going on a holiday in midst of a disaster, thus he must be in texas b4 katrina hit

  I'm watching the news now and it's really shocking... One woman interviewed said people are raping babies and women! There seems to be a higher proportion of African-Americans than Anglo-Saxon Americans in New Orleans..
  
  And Bush has ordered the national guards to shoot to kill looters.
