yes it is safe here and yes my son is 12 and can take public transportation without his mother worrying so much.
Public transportation is also safe in other countries let's not make singapore such a unique place.
But you cannot have a child grow in a society like Singapore. It is OK for the majority of us westeners who have had our education in the west. Our minds are different than the average singaporean accustomed to obey and not discuss issues. And I don't want my son to grow in such a contest. I want him to learn about differences, about discenting, I want him to be able to read whatever he wants, to ask questions, to challenge. I want him to know that danger exist, that , yes, unfortunately, this is not a perfect world and that he will ahev to fight and struggle for what he wants.
