  i like the thick white noodle used for fish noodle..but yellow yucks...heard yellow noddle is very fattening

  all yellow noodles have the kee inside them, for improve taste and texture.. thats why your thick bee hoon (chor bee hoon), used in laksaetc, is tasteless without the laksa sauce..try it..
  
  and also, why noodle stalls always have the yellow noodles, but no white ones.
  and yeah, the thick yellow noodles as mentioned (used in prawn noodle for example) is quite bitter, esp when its cooked in "economic beehoon" style.

  yeah.. got a factory in Defu Lane selling the CHILLI brand ren ren bee hoon. bee hoon/pkt cost 80c to $1, and can be stored quite long..
  
  the other noodles are fresh and cost 60c/pkt. the fresh ones got a sour smell (esp thick bee hoon) if u smell them pre-boiled.
  still, all r made from rice

  haha.. ppl are so dumb.. when food comes to the table, smell nice and delicious.. what happens before cooking is an entire different story..
  
  oh. and theres another raw noodle called Sheng Mian. its generally nicer and less bitter, but its hard to find a hawker selling it as its take skill to cook it
