The NKF saga is interesting whenyou apply to Sillypore's 1-party dominated govt system. And there's a grave danger, if we study the similarities closely:
1. NKF was run by 1 person and his board
1.1 Sillypore has been effectively run by 1-party
2. NKF is rich beyond imagination ($200+ million???)
2.1 Sillypore as a country is rich beyond imagination
3. NKF has no effective opposition, and the check-and-balance was provided by Sillypore's govt
3.1 Sillypore has no effective Oppsition in parliament, and therefore it's check-and-balance is itself
Now, if a tragedy strikes Sillypore's governing party, much like how tragedy struck NKF's highest echelons, what will happen?
Hypothetical scenario: Someone or some ppl at the top of Sillypore's pecking order screws up BIG time (massive corruption, or sex scandal, or vote rigging etc) and this is exposed to all Sillyporeans. The President may have to call for snap elections, which is bad enough. But WORSE, is that for some 'strange' reason, the Oppostion wins control of Sillypore. But the Oppositon is so weakened by the ruling party that I fear to think how the former will govern. In Australia, party-politics are so dynamic that the main Opposition party not in power has a 'shadow govt' in parliment even while the ruling party is in power.
AND after the downfall of the 1-party, the now (ex-Oppositon) Sillypore govt will use the powers of the govt (installed by years of 1-party rule) AGAINST the ex-1-party ministers. For eg, the ministers can all be detained without trial indefinitely, which is perfectly legal here in Sillypore.
Crazy scenario, right? But 3 months ago, who would've thought how quickly NKF's top rung would fall?
I'm very concerened how the 1-party govt says that they are doing all things in the interest of Sillyporeans, but yet they are possibly playing with fire in keeping the Opposition weak.
