  umm, as I recall theres this function which allows you to sign in to MSN Messenger using non NET passports? (non hotmail/msn email addresses)
  
  just wondering if its still around, cause i can't seem to find it.

  just signing up for NET passport = sign up for msn messenger.

  you can set up a .NET Passport using a non-hotmail address. i use gmail 1.

  yeah gmail and yahoo works..
