Do you greet your company's high management staffs?

Juz to share wif u guys wat happened today.
Me and a few of my colleagues went for lunch and while boarding the public transport, one of my colleagues spotted our vice president on board the same bus too while the rest of us couldnt recognize him. The VP says 'hi' and greets my colleague but he act blur and continued to walk pass him without saying 'hi' or at least greet him becoz we are all in uniform mah. ( so to say, he 'know' us but we didnt know him coz we did not expect a VP to travel on public buses, he owns a benz actually ).
To make the matter worst, this act blur colleague didnt inform us who he saw. After lunch when we reached our office, guess what? VP called up and complaint some staffs didnt greet him and 'rude' to him making him so 'malu'.
Lesson learned: Always greets your blar blar blar blar if you happens to see them. -

Wow...this VP is damn pro...I like this kind of VP...willing to speak and greet the lower management people...

Ya loh. But I never expect him to travel on public buses mah. So $$$ why don't drive his benz leh. Next time when in any public transport, I must look around and do a 'head counts'. Juz in case I come across any big shots.Originally posted by shade343: -

hmmz..firstly..i will greet only if he deserves that kind of respect i expect from higher authority..I wouldnt like to greet only if it is because must greet..So it means if i greet..it comes from the bottom of my heart..Which person here actually greet with their true hearts? rarely ritex?
As for the case of the VP complaining.. it doesn't work out fine..it will actually be of no use..he should instead tell himself that it 'die la..they duno me..'.
what i mean is that as a company as a team, it is important to know the heads because as a company, it is a team working together. =) -
definitely would greet lah, its a show of respect which i guess is need since that guy can have an impact on where you will be heading. in addition i would really say hi to any one who works with me or in the company/institution that has mutual recognition jsut as a way to keep cordial relations if nothign else

Those ppl at e top Ya-ya papaya wan, arrogrant n proud, tink they big-shot or sumtink de (esp, er shi zui, father rich den take over father business!)..u greet him out of politeness n respect, do u tink they will do bac e same......Onli a few, I wld say a few r humble de... -

Regardless of the other guy's status, it's obvious that it's pretty friggin' rude not to acknowledge him if he says hi first.

well.. if they recognise me first, then i'll greet. if not, i smile at them, they dun smile back, become they rude and i angry. i dun want ah. -
If greeting him will ensure my rice bowl no break then greet lor. Open mouth say a few words won't die mah. But if say dun greet also rice bowl won't break then must see situation. If he friendly greet me first I greet back but if he neber greet me first I also no need act smart go and greet him. Way of life to survive imho
