help with blogs pls.

  sorry but i need a lot of help with blogs.
  
  see, i just started 1 recently (don't laugh), and so i don't understand anything about the html stuffies, templates, how you edit them and so on.
  
  i have a basic template which's given already by the web site, but i've seen my buddies have lots of nicer, custom-contructed ones which are totally different from the ones provided by the web site. totally different and totally cooler.
  
  so i tried to edit it. i opened up the page to edit the template and what came out was no different from a pail of sh*t. it was something like:

  liae9wu3tgqoawft79sieubfskbgshkbgdfg
  fkasbfshklbgfshklbgfsklhbgfsklhbgsklbgs

  yeah, but 10 times worst.
  
  i also noticed that some even had songs that played when i entered their "blog-web site", whatever you call it.
  
  so pls can anyone give me some advice on how and where to take my first step? thank you.

  as suggested, you should use dreamweaver or frontpage to do up your blog. If there are certain features that your friends' bloghas and you want to include in your, a useful technique is to go to their blog, right click and choose view source. You'll be able to see how they managed to do all that.

  Dreamweaver can do it. I can't remember the details, but its not too difficult and dreamweaver will guide you thru the process. Frontpage also can.

  Hmm... honestly... if you dunno what you are doing... don't try anything funny...
  
  your friends are all probably using custom-made blogskins too...
