When it comes to delivering the hard news, sassy CNA news presenter ANDREA CHOW gives good face. Ironically, the effect Andrea Chow has on people when she walks into a room is similar to that of a disruptive, but rather engaging, news break.
Men shift in their seats and clear their throats. Women spy surreptitiously. You can almost hear curious minds racing to place ChowÂ’s familiar, doll-like face.
“You’ll be surprised. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been recognised on the street,” says the ex-SCGS girl in a slight American accent when asked if people find her familiar. “Because I look really different when I read the news. I bun my hair up.”

Andrea Chow — all 1.65m and 48kg of her — is equal parts bookworm and Taiwanese soap star, and demands attention in a most traditional way: by being admirably telegenic and perhaps, to put it more casually, “hot”.
She's also married to someone she describes as
"a very private" businessman.
This is her first media interview and she is fiercely articulate, a trait no doubt honed from a privileged education — she was 16 when she went to the exclusive all-girl Mills College in California.
“It was an all-girl school. Almost militantly feministic in nature, and it taught us to cultivate very strong minds,” she says of Mills College, pushing the point with lovely French-manicured fingers and flipping her re-bonded, roasted caramel hair…
