  also known as Hyperkalemia (if im not wrong).. basically the level of potassium in the bloodstream is higher than normal... cud be due to increase in total body potassium or excessive release of potassium from the cells into the bloodstream.. since kidneys excrete excess potassium in the body.. if therez too much of it.. the kidneys may act 'abnormally' in other words itz ability to excrete the potassium is reduced..

  You can still go about your normal diet, there is medication you take after meals to limit the amount that goes to your kidneys. Usually, in such cases, peritoneal dialysis is supplemented.
